In one lens you get a proper macro performance, and a useful telephoto lens, ideal for partraits, and not bad on almost any subject. Lightweight lens fully integrated in the Four Thirds system and giving cracking results up to 1:1 on macro. Very reasonable price, but faithful to impeccable Olympus design and product quality.

Being new to digital photography, I researched a macro lens for my Olympus E420 and this lens was recommended on several sites. I am so glad I purchased it – fantastic results which demonstrate how creative you can be and what new worlds you can open up by getting in close! I highly recommend this lens to anyone starting in digital photography.

Hubby got this lens as a christmas present for my Olympus E520. It’s brilliant for both macros and portraits. Sharp images and great capture of details. I LOVE it!!! I was torn between getting the pancake 25mm lens and this one. After reading many reviews, I decided on this one and ordered through Amazon. It came in time for Christmas after using Amazon’s express delivery option. The lens is great. My very first photo was dazzling. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a decent macro lens and I have also been using it to get portraits of my baby boy so it doubles up as a good investment.

Filter thread size is 52mm, not 58mm as in the ‘bought together’ section.
Olympus lens cap is deep and doesnt work well with a filter attached, but easily changed.
Lens build quality is excellent and it is now my carry around lens on an E500.
Its compact size makes the outfit more discreet and the fixed focal length forces you to compose your shots with more thought.
Short telephoto allows you to be close to your portrait subject for interaction, while for macro you’ll need a high mass tripod and ideally a liveview camera and the RM-1 remote.
£25 cashback from Olympus until 31/03/2010 makes this a great value addition to the standard kit zoom lenses.
