I ordered this camcorder months ago when the press release went out from Sony.
On paper this camera has just about everything but I have learnt from expensive mistakes that what is on paper a great camera often turns out to be just hype.
In this case the camera is everything it claims.
Even Sony UK could not tell me when it would be released and referred me to “my supplier”. A good thing my supplier is the fantastic Amazon as yesterday I got it.
I expected high quality video, I expected to be amazed at the wide angle lens on a consumer camcorder but what I did not expect and what has to been seen to be believed is the new stabilization. This is what makes this camera stunning. It really is the business. It’s like having an invisible steady cam. People often miss the point that great videos start with a stable image. This camera makes the movement of the camera appear as if it’s gliding around the subject. This looks really cool when you add the wide angle effect.
The other features are fun to have, gps ( in a camera how mad is that?) but if you truly want to record videos which have a professional look this is camera for you.
